Tahaani is a safe, values-based matrimonial platform for practising Muslims seeking marriage with intention. It combines modern digital convenience with Islamic guidance, human moderation, and Wali involvement, so every connection begins with dignity, transparency, and family blessing.

“Tahaani” (تهاني) is the plural of tahni’ah — classical Arabic for joyous congratulations, auspicious tidings, and celebrations extended upon a blessed union. It reflects our mission: facilitating enduring marriages celebrated with family blessings and barakah. The traditional du’a for a newly married couple captures the spirit: “Barakallahu laka wa baraka ‘alayka wa jama‘a baynakuma fee khayr” — May Allah bless you, shower His blessings upon you, and unite you both in goodness.

Tahaani is built for marriage, not casual dating. Instead of unlimited swiping and open-ended chat, it uses a structured RFC process, one active RFC at a time, clear response accountability, human moderation, Wali visibility, and privacy-first photo controls. This honors both individual agency and family involvement.

An RFC is a formal, intentional request to connect. A candidate submits an RFC with thoughtful answers to core marital-value prompts. The request is reviewed by our moderation team and shared with the recipient’s Wali for endorsement or guidance. Once mutual consent is verified, the photo blur lifts and chaperoned communication can begin.

Unlike casual dating apps where users accumulate hundreds of matches without replying, Tahaani allows only one active RFC at a time. Recipients have a clear 24–48 hour response window. If declined, communication ends with an honorable prayer and closure, avoiding ambiguous ghosting.

You can invite your father, brother, or another appointed Wali to your profile. Guardians can review potential matches, endorse or query an RFC, and stay informed at the level you and your family agree. Their involvement is built into the workflow, not added as an afterthought.

We specifically built multi-generational SMS integration. Your Wali receives simple text messages with authenticated, secure web links to review suitors, approve connections, or view notes without requiring an account or mobile app installation.

Tahaani gives you granular control over what is visible and to whom. You can mask your surname, control photo visibility, and choose which contact details and profile information are shared. Our moderation and guardian workflows are designed to keep early interactions respectful and private.

By default, all profile pictures have a high-density blur shield. Clear photos are unveiled only upon mutual RFC acceptance and guardian approval. Our mobile app also enforces screenshot prevention and dynamic user ID watermarks.

Tahaani welcomes practising Muslims of all ethnic backgrounds, with an early community focus across Arab, South Asian, Middle Eastern, North African and other Muslim communities. We are launching first in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, and select Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regions.
