Privacy Notice

Last updated: 24 October 2026

Review notice: This is a plain-language draft prepared for the Tahaani launch. It should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before the service opens beyond the waitlist.

This notice explains how Tahaani collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information. It covers the public website, the VIP waitlist, and the marriage request form today, and the member platform and mobile applications when they launch (together, the “service”). Some sections describe features that are planned but not yet live; those sections will apply when the features are released.

1. Who we are

Tahaani provides a dignified Islamic matrimonial service. It is operated by ITPROSERVE. In this notice, “Tahaani”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to ITPROSERVE as the party responsible for the personal information described below.

The service is for adults aged 18 and over. For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@tahaani.com.

2. Our role and the people on Tahaani

We operate the service and are responsible for platform-level operations, security, and the purposes described in this notice. Different people play different roles:

  • Members — adults seeking marriage who create a profile.
  • Guardians — a family member or trusted representative who registers, consents, and supports a Member. We use “Guardian” and “Wali” interchangeably.
  • Moderators — community volunteers who review profiles, photographs, and Requests for Connection, and who enforce our community guidelines.
  • Admins — community administrators who oversee the platform and Moderators.
  • Marriage Counselors — qualified counselors who provide guidance and educational support.

Where a request concerns a moderation decision, we may ask the relevant Moderator or Admin to review it. This does not limit any statutory right you have against Tahaani.

3. Information we collect

We collect information you choose to give us, information generated when you use the service, and limited information from service providers.

Waitlist information. Your email address, your consent choice, the page or campaign that referred you, and related referral parameters.

Marriage request information. Your name, email address, phone number, country and city, date of birth, education, job grade, marital status, religious practice level, personal description, partner preferences, and — where a guardian submits the request — the applicant's name, gender, and your relationship to them. You may also choose to add one photograph to a marriage request. The photograph is optional, is used only to review and respond to that request, and is never published on the public site or shown to other Members.

Account and profile information. When the member platform launches, we will collect the details you add to your account, such as your name and contact details, date of birth, gender, nationality, country and city, education, profession, marital status, religious practice, up to six profile photographs, Guardian details, profile text, and messages you send through the service.

Profile visibility. Each profile will have a public section and a private section. The private section is hidden by default and is only temporarily unlocked for a Member or Guardian after an approved Request for Connection.

Technical and security information. On the public site, we store a salted hash of your IP address rather than the raw address, together with your browser user-agent, the time of submission, and a record used to limit repeated or abusive submissions. When the member platform launches, we may also collect device and usage information such as device type, operating system and browser, app version, feature interactions, session duration, crash and performance data, and login timestamps.

Information from third parties. We receive limited information from providers that help us operate the service, such as authentication, hosting, and email or SMS delivery providers.

Communications. Messages you send to us by email or through the service.

We do not ask for payment details, government identification numbers, or identity documents through the public forms. Please do not include sensitive identifiers in free-text fields.

4. Sensitive information

Some marriage request and profile fields — particularly religious practice and marital status — may reveal information that the law treats as sensitive. We process that information only with your explicit consent, only to understand compatibility and respond to your request, and only for the purposes described in this notice. You may leave optional preference fields blank. We do not use sensitive information to infer characteristics beyond compatibility, safety, and the operation of the service.

5. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Create, verify, maintain, and secure accounts, including age and profile review.
  • Add you to the VIP waitlist and send launch updates you asked for.
  • Receive, review, and respond to marriage requests, including contacting you using your preferred method.
  • Moderate profiles, photographs, and Requests for Connection, and enforce our community guidelines.
  • Operate the Request for Connection workflow, including Guardian approval and the temporary unlock of private profile sections.
  • Recommend potential matches and honour your search and visibility preferences.
  • Send notifications by email, SMS, and within the service.
  • Provide educational content, guidance, and counselor support.
  • Protect the safety, integrity, and security of the community, including verifying submissions with Cloudflare Turnstile and applying rate limits.
  • Maintain, improve, and debug the service, using aggregated, non-identifying information where possible.
  • Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our terms.

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on consent (for waitlist and marriage request processing, including sensitive information), performance of a contract (where we provide a service you have asked for), legitimate interests (security, safety, and service improvement), and legal obligation where applicable. You can withdraw consent at any time.

We will not use your personal information for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without first providing you notice.

6. Guardian access and profile visibility

Guardianship is a core part of Tahaani. When a Member registers on the member platform, their Guardian also registers and must consent. As part of this role:

  • A Guardian is notified of, and can view, their Member's Requests for Connection and related activity.
  • A Guardian must approve or reject Requests for Connection involving their Member.

Default visibility. Members may view only the public sections of opposite-gender profiles and cannot browse same-gender profiles. Your private section remains hidden from other Members unless an approved Request for Connection temporarily unlocks it.

Temporary unlock. When a Request for Connection is approved by the Moderator and the Guardians, the private profile sections are unlocked for 2 days. After that period the private sections are hidden again.

Guardian access is part of the service design. We will explain the scope of that access at registration and in the product.

7. Photos and modesty protections

Marriage request photos. A photograph you add to a marriage request is not a profile photograph. It is stored privately, shared only with the team reviewing your request, never attached to the confirmation email we send you, and never published. Location and camera metadata are removed before the photo is stored. The photo is optional, and your request can be submitted without one.

Photographs are reviewed for modest, appropriate attire and content before they appear on a profile. Our safeguards include:

  • A review workflow in which Moderators approve photographs before publication.
  • Private profile sections that are hidden by default.
  • A temporary 2-day unlock that applies only after an approved Request for Connection.
  • Watermarking and other deterrents where applicable to discourage misuse.

Please remember that no platform can prevent a person from capturing a screen. Share only what you are comfortable sharing, and report any misuse to privacy@tahaani.com or hello@tahaani.com. We may remove photographs that do not meet our modesty standards.

8. How long we keep information

We retain each category of personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this notice, or as required by law.

  • Waitlist information: kept until you withdraw consent, the launch campaign ends, or after 24 months of inactivity, whichever comes first.
  • Marriage requests: kept for 12 months after our last contact, unless a longer period is needed to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation.
  • Marriage request photos: stored with the request and deleted when the request is deleted, on the same 12-month timetable.
  • Rate-limit records: deleted automatically within 24 hours.
  • Account and profile data (member platform): we intend to keep this while your account is active and for 90 days after deletion.
  • Profile photographs (member platform): we intend to keep these while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion.
  • Requests for Connection and moderation records (member platform): we intend to keep these for 3 years.
  • Authentication and security logs (member platform): we intend to keep these for 12 months.
  • Analytics and crash data (member platform): we intend to keep these for 13 months.
  • Backups: deleted data may persist in backups for up to 90 days.
  • Email delivery providers: may retain delivery logs for a limited period under their own policies.

When a retention period ends, we delete or permanently de-identify the information. You may request earlier deletion as described in section 13.

9. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only as described below.

Within the community. Your public profile section is visible to opposite-gender Members as described above. Your full profile, Requests for Connection, and moderation history are visible to your Guardian and to the Moderators assigned to your review.

Service providers. We share information with providers that process it on our behalf under contractual and security safeguards, including:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, database, object storage, Workers, security, and email delivery.
  • Email and SMS delivery providers — verification codes, notifications, and Guardian links.
  • A payment processor — processing payments for any paid features, when they launch.
  • Professional advisers — legal, accounting, or security advice where necessary.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tahaani, our users, or the public.

Aggregated data. We may share aggregated, de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

Business transfer. If we merge with, acquire, or transfer assets to another organisation, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this notice.

10. AI-assisted features and automated moderation

We may use automated tools to assist human moderators — for example, to flag photographs or content for review. Where we do:

  • Submitted content is shared with the relevant provider solely for moderation.
  • We do not use your content to train AI models.
  • We do not use automated profiling to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you. Final decisions are made by people.

If you believe an automated tool has incorrectly flagged your content, contact privacy@tahaani.com and ask for a human review.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

The public site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies, and Turnstile may process technical signals to distinguish people from bots.

When the member platform launches, we may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, maintain secure sessions, remember your preferences, understand how the service is used, and detect fraud.

  • Your choices. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit functionality, such as staying signed in.
  • Do Not Track. “Do Not Track” signals are not uniform across browsers, and the service is not currently configured to respond to them.
  • No advertising trackers. We do not include third-party advertising partners or personalised ad delivery.

If we introduce non-essential cookies, we will ask for consent where the law requires it.

12. International transfers

Tahaani is hosted on Cloudflare's global network. Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate data centres. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. You can contact us for more information about the safeguards that apply.

13. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access and obtain a copy of your personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Restrict or object to our processing.
  • Obtain a portable copy of your information.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that already took place.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell or share your personal information.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information to purposes necessary to provide the service.
  • Not be subject to solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
  • Complain to your local data protection authority.

How to submit a request. Email privacy@tahaani.com. Only you, or a person legally authorised to act for you, may make a verifiable request. We may need sufficient information to verify your identity before acting.

Timelines. We aim to respond within the time required by applicable law — normally within one month for UK and EEA requests and within 45 days for US state requests. We may extend this where the law allows, with notice. If we deny a request, we will explain why and, where applicable, how to appeal.

Non-discrimination. We will not deny you service or provide a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right.

14. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including:

  • Encryption in transit and at rest, using protections from our infrastructure providers.
  • Authentication controls, including hashed credentials and verification codes.
  • Role-based access control and internal access limited to those who need it.
  • Upload security such as file-type validation and size limits.
  • Rate limiting, monitoring, and security event logging.
  • An incident response process, with notification to users and regulators where required by law.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach that affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where required.

15. Children

The service is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact privacy@tahaani.com and we will delete it promptly.

16. Communication preferences and SMS consent

  • When the member platform launches, you will be able to manage email, push, and in-platform notification preferences in your account settings.
  • You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the footer or by contacting hello@tahaani.com.
  • For SMS, reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Guardians may receive SMS links to review Requests for Connection. A Guardian can opt out of SMS, but this may limit their ability to participate.
  • Certain security and account notices cannot be disabled.

17. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the service develops. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already provided, we will take reasonable steps to tell you, such as by email or a prominent notice on the site. Where the law requires consent, we will ask for it.
